What is tin plating?

Electroplated tin plate, commonly known as tinplate, is a high value-added cold-rolled coated steel produced by coating a thin layer of tin (1.1~15.1g/m2) on cold-rolled thin steel plate.
It is said that it was named after a large number of re-exports from Macau to China in the early years.
The English name is Electrolytic Tinplate, referred to as ETP or TP.
